What is … Domestic Violence is a pattern of hurtful and abusive behaviors used by one individual to systematically control and have power over another individual. Domestic Violence?

-CDC 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience intimate partner violence

-CDC 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men have been stalked

Why do they stay? Women who leave are at a 75% greater risk of being killed.

Georgia ranks 10 th in the nation for states where men kill women. -Violence Policy Center: When Men Murder Women: An analysis of 2009 Homicide Data

Georgia Fatality Review Key Findings Of all the systems and agencies involved in the lives of domestic violence victims, law enforcement had the most contact with and access to victims who were later killed by their partners in Georgia.
