INTERACTIONS AMONG LIVING THINGS. A characteristic that makes an individual better suited to its environment may eventually become common in that species.
Chapter 8 How Species Interact with Each Other
* Competition- when organisms of the same or different species attempt to use the same ecological resource Males competing for the ability to mate.
Symbiosis Living Together.
Ecological Interactions “When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” ~John Muir, naturalist, Sierra Club.
SPECIES INTERACTIONS. Community Interactions  Competition – occurs when organisms of the same or different species attempt to use an ecological resource.
Community Interactions. Community interactions, such as competition, predation, and various forms of symbiosis, can powerfully affect an ecosystem.

Parasitism Ticks Bird infested with ticks. The ticks benefit but the bird is harmed Different types of ticks that are parasites.(Beware)

Explaining parasitism. Parasites can harm humans, animals, and even your house. Ticks attach themselves to humans and your pets and they feed off your blood. Bed bugs are the parasites that ruin your house. They live in your bed and bite you while you sleep.

Recent stories about ticks Recently a study has documented a rapid growth in Canada of ticks that can cause Lyme disease, and they think global warming is might be a factor.
