3 HOW DO WE HELP YOU? Tools currently available on IFAP can maximize the efficiency of the Staff in maintaining compliance with federal regulations: Federal Student Aid Assessments Federal Student Aid Coach Common Origination & Disbursement

PARTNERSHIP WORKSHOPS This year the SIS Unit sponsored workshops specifically tailored to address the needs of the Financial Aid and Business Office staff at HBCUs.

5 PARTNERSHIP WORKSHOPS HBCUs informed SIS that more training was needed on: –Default Prevention –Default Prevention Plan –Liquidation of Federal Perkins Loans –Conflicting Information –Verification

6 PARTNERSHIP WORKSHOPS FSA’s Default Prevention and Management Office team held a workshop in Puerto Rico designed specifically for the Hispanic-Speaking Institutions. The workshop included a default prevention component and reiterated the school’s responsibility to reduce delinquency and default among borrowers.

7 PARTNERSHIP WORKSHOPS SIS participated in a day-long session for HSIs on Conflicting Information/Verification.

8 PARTNERSHIP WORKSHOPS Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU’s) received updated information on compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) with respect to protecting the privacy of student education records.

9 FUTURE PARTNERSHIP WORKSHOPS Workshops exclusively geared toward Business Officers. This training will ensure that these professionals are equipped with the information they need to be fiscally sound administrators of Title IV funds.
