Pennies for Patients
What is Pennies for Patients? Pennies for Patients is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience by making a difference through teamwork—working together to aid thousands of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia.
How Pennies for Patients Work? ▪ Students collect money over a three-week period during February or March. ▪ The money can come from friends or relatives or underneath the couch cushions. ▪ What's important is that it's collected.
Easy Participation in Pennies for Patients ▪ LLS provides everything Westfield High School needs to run the program, including: ▪ Lesson plans that meet service learning and character education standards ▪ Classroom collection boxes ▪ Individual collection boxes ▪ Educational video ▪ Prizes and awards for classrooms and schools ▪ Opportunity for an educational kickoff assembly
