How Service Learning Works Briefly: Experience turns caring into action Students provide needed services to individuals, schools, or other community agencies Service experience related to the subject matter of the course The course offers a method to assess learning derived from service – credit is given for SERVICE LEARNING and not the actual service provided Opportunities to reflect on experiences – write in journal – talk with recipients and other students 12/2/2015
