Background The role of Eurostat in the process of compliance monitoring The role of NSIs in the process of compliance monitoring The role of SMIS in the process of compliance monitoring SSO participated in 5 rounds – since 2005 The SMIS database aims at following the compliance of the country’s statistical system towards the European one in a systematic way as it is described in the SRC

Use of monitoring results from a compliance round Analysis Activity plan Monitoring Input

Analysing phase Distribution of a draft generated report to the SSO and other authorised bearers As a result of the analysis of Eurostat’s evaluation and the recommended action for the 2008 round: -the number of data sets sent to Eurostat has been increased -eDAMIS presentation, to other authorised bearers, on:  eDAMIS Web Porta (eWP)  eDAMIS Web Application (eWA)  eDAMIS Web Forms (eWF). It is expected that the number of data transmitted sets will increase in the course of this year

Preparation of an Activity Plan Distribution of the final report Preparation and distribution of a scheme with recommended actions Preparation of the Activity Plan with: -activities to be undertaken -responsible unit -timeframe One extract for National Accounts This scheme served as a good base for the discussions with Eurostat representatives during the annual mission.
