 When doing business in France, use first names only after being invited to do so.  Use Monsieur or Madame followed the surname.  The French will sometimes introduce themselves using their surname first, followed by their first name.  If you speak French stick to the vous form until told to use tu.

 Friends may greet each other by lightly kissing on the cheeks, once on the left cheek and once on the right cheek. . First names are reserved for family and close friends. Wait until invited before using someone's first name.  You are expected to say 'bonjour' or 'bonsoir' (good morning and good evening) with the honorific title Monsieur or Madame when entering a shop and 'au revoir' (good-bye) when leaving.  If you live in an apartment building, it is polite to greet your neighbors with the same appellation.

 The act of eating together has had a pleasant social significance.  You have to develop acceptable techniques of eating.  “You should wipe your spoon before passing it to a neighbor.“  "Do not blow your nose with the same hand that you use to hold the meat”

 Liquids on the right  Solids on the left and cup to the right of the plate.  Bread plate on the left  Napkin should be in your lap.  The French are passionate about food, so lunches are the norm when doing business in France.  These usually consist of an appetizer, main meal (with wine), cheese, dessert and coffee and normally take up to two hours. This is a time for relationship building.

 Flowers should be giving in odd numbers not 13.  The number 13 is considered unlucky.  Wine should be the highest quality you can afford.  Gifts should be opened when received.  White lilies or chrysanthemums as they are used at funerals; red carnations as they symbolize bad will; any white flowers as they are used at weddings.

 They are exchanged after the initial introductions.  Have the other side of your business card translated into French.  Although not a business necessity, it demonstrates an attention to detail that will be appreciated.  Include any advanced academic degrees on your business card.  French business cards are often a bit larger than in many other countries.

 France is a great country to visit.  It’s a formal country  You should show manners  For a person to kiss when greeting is common.
