THE VIEWPOINT IS ALL-IMPORTANT…

If a collection of parallel lines in the real world is parallel to the window (picture plane), then their images on the window are parallel. If a collection of parallel lines in the real world is NOT parallel to the window, then their images on the window meet at a common point, which we call the vanishing point. A single line in the real world not parallel to the window has a vanishing point
