3 3  Company produces paints, enamels and powder coatings ; this is respectable company with 170 employees, modern technology and good storage for waste, but the way they manage dangerous waste was inadequate, i.e. it was opposite to waste management regulations  Ministry of Interior (criminal inspectors) and republic environmental inspectors provided investigation about moving the hazardous waste from this factory  What we have found ? 4 4 It was found more than 200 barrels with waste paints and solvents, which have been sold by men who was responsible for environmental protection in the factory! The case of “Zvezda – Helios “ Company

5 5 Barrels were distributed or sold to physical persons in neighboring towns and villages; one barrel exploded and broke a leg to a man who was near it The case of “Zvezda – Helios “ Company

6 6 Epilogue :  Police arrested 3 employees, who were involved in illegal waste management  All barrels were returned to the factory; factory is in procedure of applying for obtaining the permit for export of hazardous waste to treatment  It was brought criminal charges and submitted application for initiation of commercial offence proceeding The case of “Zvezda – Helios “ Company
