Packaging & Containers To Understand the Reasons for Packaging Designs

What would this container be used for? How do you know? It would be used for a small pet like a cat. What are the design features that help you to know what it’s used for? There are slots that allow the cat to breathe There’s a door to allow you to put the cat inside There’s a handle for easy carrying There’s a mesh on the front so you can see if your cat is alright.

What materials is the cat box made from and why? The box is made from rigid plastic so it can be easily cleaned and is strong but light The door is made from metal bars because metal is strong even when thin so allowing you to see into the box easily.

How big must the box be? What other design features can you think of? It must be big enough to hold your cat without making it too big or too small. The cat needs walls to support it while you carry it. It needs a strong catch to stop the cat from escaping.

Now can you examine a container and find it’s design features?
