Making Your Own Template
Find a picture, drawing, diagram … whatever you would like to use as a background… Be sure to be respectful of copyright laws…
Start with a totally blank presentation
Go to the Slide Master
Paste the picture and adjust the size
As is, this would be a horrible background. It is too busy. But there are ways around this …
With your mouse, right click on the picture for Format Picture
Under the Picture tab, open the Color box. Choose Washout.
The New Look
Right click on the picture again
Click on Order & Send to Back
Now the picture truly can serve as a backdrop for your text
While you have the slide master open, you can adjust fonts as previously explained
Before you add content, it is important to save the blank template, in case you want to use it in the future
You need to save templates with a.pot extension (as opposed to a.ppt which is the default)
Choosing.pot automatically opens the template folder Pick a memorable name & save
Pay attention to where it is saved so you can find it again!
Click on Browse
The file where you saved it should open by default
Click on your choice
