Unit Summary This course deals mainly with the relation of foods to your health. Food contains the essential nutrients needed by your body for its normal growth and development. It is necessary for you to know sources and functions of these nutrients. Adequacy of these nutrients in your diet will result to your good health. Hence, you must learn how to plan, select, prepare, and serve the simple but nutritious breakfast for you and your family. Balanced meals will provide your body with sufficient energy, build and repair your body tissues and maintain the normal body processes.

PROJECTS Graded group activity -you will be grouped into three. After the groupings you will be given five minutes to discuss about proper nutrition, its importance and balanced diet. Present it to the class. Short quiz - quiz on previous lesson Assignment -bring pictures of healthy foods

PROJECTS Graded oral recitation - you will discuss your brought pictures in relation to our topic. PowerPoint Presentation - You will make a power point presentation on healthy meal with the market list of your chosen meal. Cooking Show - To test your skills in cooking, you will be having a cooking show. You will cook your chosen meal (healthy meal). You will be inviting your neighbor to be your chosen family to taste your meal. It is also a sort of feeding program. Your judges will be your chosen family.
