THE STATE OF OUR ENVIRONMENT > MARCH MARCH SUMMARY Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Environmental Science – March 2011 This monthly report includes a summary of the region’s temperatures, rainfall, river flows, groundwater and soil moisture levels, and air quality. Data and images are provided by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council. AIR QUALITY Monitoring in the Hastings & Napier airsheds There were no PM 10 exceedences during March. The monitoring sites are at: St Johns College, Hastings Marewa Park, Napier The NES or National Environmental Standard for particulate matter (PM 10 ) triggers an exceedence at 50 micrograms per cubic metre over a 24 hour average.
