New PMSM Motor Control Limei Zhao

New Motor Specification  3 phase, 2 pole, 200krpm. Electrical : 3.333khz  Motor output power: 2kw, efficiency: 95.5% Control efficiency: 95% Control output power: 2100W Power supply power: 2200W  Back EMF voltage is about 16vrms. Output current RMS value per phase: about 44A Output current peak value phase to phase: about 70A Output voltage peak value phase to phase: about 45V  Phase Inductance: 2~3uH Filter or simple reactance is necessary.

Components Need to Be Changed MOSFETs: Stand up to at least 45V Current sensors: Stand up to at least 70A Power Supplier: Can provide 2200W

MOSFETs IRF1607 HEXFET Stand up to 75V, 142A Ultra low on-resistance: Ohms operating temperature Price: $3.08 per unit

Current Sensor Allegro Current Sensor: ACS750 +/- 75A up to 150°C Single supply +5V Linearity > 98.5%, 13kHz bandwidth

Power Supplies Xantrex 2800W output (two modules) 40V, 70A 60V, 46A About $2,880 Higher voltage, lower current power supply is easier found

Soft Switching (I) Why need soft switching reduce switching loss lower heat dissipation What is soft switching Resonance is used to clamp current or voltage to zero to create zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) conditions

Soft Switching (II) Resonant pole inverters Resonant DC link inverters Quasi resonant DC link inverters Resonant snubber inverters

Future Work Finish open and close loop control Update hardware Test the system performance Improve efficiency
