What are PRONOUNS? words used in place of one or more nouns. They stand for a person, place, thing, or idea. Personal Pronouns I, me, mine you, your, yours she, her, hers, it, its we, us, our, ours they, them, their, theirs myself yourself Indefinite Pronouns Anybody, EACH, EITHER, none someone, one, etc. Interrogative Pronouns who, whom, what, which whose DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS this that these those

What are VERBS? Action verbs express mental or physical action. Linking verbs make a statement by connecting the subject with a word that describes or explains it. They danced their way into the championships. My teacher has been grouchy.

What are ADJECTIVES? describe a noun or pronoun New boat Lazy lion Refreshing stream

What are ADVERBS ? describes the verb, adjective or adverb They usually answer: how, when or to what degree. They often end in “ly.” Sang LOUDLY Ran QUICKLY Purred GENTLY

What are PREPOSITIONS? show position or direction Think of them as anywhere a squirrel can go in relation to a tree. On Under Within Below Around Near To For During Beside
