Book Cover Design The cover is a reader’s first experience with a book or magazine. After the initial reaction to a cover in a bookstore, online or at a newsstand, once the reader starts reading, a new relationship develops. Type and Image should work together to communicate the subject and design concept, working in a supporting, sympathetic, or contrasting relationship.

Book Cover Design Your goal is for the visual and type to work together. Make the type become a natural part of the visual.

Book Cover Design Typography in Graphic Design Type is your most powerful weapon - use it wisely. You can create beautiful illustrations, graphics and photography, but if the typeface, styling, sizing and positioning of the typography isn't correct, you lose the battle -- and the project.
