Hadith Session 5A Ramzan Shahid
Hadith “ Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother.”
Saying of Hadrat Abu Bakr (R) Hadrat Abu Bakr (R) said: There are 2 types of Zakat. One is Zakat of wealth. The other is Zakat of the body. There is a debt due on the body.
Saying of Hadrat Abu Bakr (R) Body’s Zakat To serve others with your physical body To make other’s misfortune one’s own (remove someone else’s difficulty by taking it off their back and put it on your back)
Serving Others Most people today are absorbed in their own problems and want everyone to listen to their problems They want you to hear how their boss doesn’t treat them well, how that person said this about them, how they are struggling to make end’s meet.
Serving Others When we hear someone is in a difficult situation, we hope they don’t ask us for money. Then we have to give some money or what will they say about us. We don’t want to be asked to help someone We should actually looking for ways to help others, serve others
Serving Others – Example People heard a noise in the distance as a storm was coming. They worried and finally decided to send someone to check it out. As that person started to leave, people saw a light in the distance. They watched the light get closer and closer.
Serving Others – Example Finally saw it was the Prophet (SAW) coming holding a lantern. They asked what he was doing. He said he went to check the noise. It was alright, everything was fine. He had already checked, while everyone was still thinking about going to check it.
Serving Others This is an example of how the Prophet (S) served his others, served his community, served his Ummah.
Hadith – Serving Others is Charity “Every small bone of everyone has upon it a charitable act for everyday upon which the sun rises. Bringing about justice between two is an act of charity. Helping a man get on his mount, lifting him onto it or helping him put his belongings onto it, is a charitable act. A good word is a charitable act. Every step you take toward the prayer is a charitable act. And removing a harmful thing from the path is a charitable act.”
Serving Others How many bones in the adult body? 206 We must do 206 acts of charity/service each and every day
Serving Others You pick up a nail from the parking lot so it doesn’t puncture a tire You removed a difficulty from someone’s way You paid your body’s Zakat You alleviate a difficulty from someone, Inshallah Allah will alleviate difficulties on the day when there will be nails in my path to Heavan
Hadith Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim have related Abu Huraira’s (R) narration, he says, Jibraeel the trustworthy arrived in the presence of the Noble Prophet (S) and said, "This is Khadija, who is coming, she has with her a utensil in which there is curry (or he said food, or drink) …
Hadith (cont.) … When she arrives, give salaam to Khadija from Allah (SWT) the Most Glorious and Eminent One, and give her glad tidings of a house in Paradise which will be made of pearls."
Serving Others How did she get Allah to send Salaam to her and have a house in Jannah She was bringing a bowl for the Prophet (SAW) By serving the Prophet (SAW) By serving her husband By serving another human being By serving Islam in its infancy
