Common Nouns  A common noun names any person, place, thing, or idea.  Examples- actor, singer, athlete, building, city, river, book, movie, song

Proper Nouns  A proper noun names a specific person, place, thing, or idea.  Examples- Johnny Depp, Mariah Carey, Danica Patrick, Tower of London, Tuscon, Nile, Matilda, Pirates of the Caribbean, This Land Is Your Land.

Singular Nouns  A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea.  Examples- bus, hero, zero, board, day, city, leaf, and roof.

Plural Nouns  A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing, or idea.  To form plurals- pg. 321
