Presentation transcript:

There are many people in the world who don’t know how the ancients used numbers. That is why I have made this power point to make you aware of the number zero the historical facts and the differences between roman and Arabic number zero.

It all started in the middle of the 2 nd millennium BC. The people didn’t think we needed a zero they thought why do we need a number zero they refused to call it a zero. There are tow mane ways that the number zero can be used. first it can be used for an empty place value. Second it can be used for the number between the negative numbers and the normal numbers.

Zero as a number came to Europe in the middle of the eleventh century. When it finally came to Europe it had already been to India, China, Arabia and Maya. There where many different feelings about the number zero the Greeks banned it and the others mostly were fine with it.

The name zero was from the French word ze’ro. People have always been fascinated by the number zero. The first know use of numbers dates back to around 30,000 BC used by the stone age.

I have made this power point because people where not aware of the number zero and how it became a number. I have shown you the mane reasons and information about the number zero. I hope you now a little bit more than you did before but there is no reason why you shouldn't know anything after that power point.
