Student Access to Office 365 CTR Meeting January 2014
All SAISD Students have access to Office 365!
What’s The Difference Between Office 365 and Installed Office Programs? It’s In the cloud. Microsoft Office 365 is "in the cloud" from two perspectives. First, installed software is only available on the physical machine. The cloud version is available anywhere the student can get internet access. Second, the office suite itself is set up to save documents to the cloud in a personal account called SkyDrive. Cloud users still have the option to save files locally, but the cloud version integrates tightly with SkyDrive.
What’s The Difference Between Office 365 and Installed Office Programs? Office 365 in the Cloud is and will be the latest software versions; users and school personnel do not deal with updates or hardware capability issues. Microsoft takes care of software updates for its Cloud versions.
