Alex and Poppy2 Chapter one One hot Summer’s day at the Lion Hotel, two boys named Jack and Ben were lying lazily in front of the television eating a huge, bag of popcorn. Jack got up and went to the dining room, Ben followed him. Jack bumped into the butler. He was alarmed to see two boys in the dining room one with frizzy orange hair and dark brown eyes and one with jet black hair and a freckly face. “Oh my goodness! ” screamed the butler. “Wayne Rooney’s boots have vanished. Must warn the hotel!”

Alex and Poppy3 Chapter Two The boys felt sorry for Wayne Rooney, they wandered slowly back to their room. After a while Jack decided firmly that they were going look to for those boots. Ben agreed. They slowly walked down stairs stopping at every place the boots might be. They had no luck in the hotel. Jack gazed out the window and his eyes fell open an old abandoned warehouse and a thought entered his head and he hoped that it had entered Ben’s as well he told it to Ben they wandered up the road and Ben pushed open the gate……………

Alex and Poppy4 Chapter Three The gate creaked terribly. Jack walked slowly up the path Ben tailed slowly behind him. The warehouse had an overgrown blanket of ivy covering its face. No light what so ever made it through those boarded up windows. Ben’s spine shivered as he pushed open the huge iron doors. Jack gasped as he stepped inside. It was one thing on the outside but quite another on the inside…………….

Alex and Poppy5 Inside a fire was crackling merrily in one corner and in the other a piano with a violin perched against it.But what most captured Jack’s imagination was a door on the other side of the room. He wandered over and pushed open the door. Ben plodded over to the door to stand beside Jack. “Here goes,” said Jack. And he stepped forward into the room. Things might have been far worse if Ben hadn't stopped Jack knocking over a test tube. Unluckily, Ben,did…………………….. A figure rose out of the shadows, fake money fell to the floor ! Two pairs of beady, black eyes fixed on the boys. Suddenly he lunged. The two boys sprang from the place where the potion was spilt. THEY RAN……………..

Alex and Poppy6 And just in time to, they ran from the room into the kitchen. Looked around. clunk clunk the sound of footsteps from outside the room filled the ears of the children. A vase of flowers was on the side. The robber entered the room. Jack threw the vase over the robber. That gave them just enough time to run into the next room. The robber approached the boys he corned the boys…………………………………………….

Alex and Poppy7 Chapter four At that moment mum came into the room with three policemen the police handcuffed the robber and took him away just before he left he made a sound like “kids”.
