What are biomes? Biomes are regions of the world with similar climate, animals, and plants.

Introduction to Ecosystems Ecology. Ecology is the study of organisms and their interaction with the environment. –An organism is any living thing Examples:
Biomes A drought makes vegetation scarce. What is a biome?  Group of ecosystems with similar climates and organisms.
TYPES OF FOREST ECOSYSTEM. DECIDOUS FOREST Decidous forest: are dominated by Decidous trees. These trees shed their leaves each year and re grow them.
The Biosphere Copy the stuff in Blue.. Biosphere The portion of the Earth that holds life Includes all organisms and the environments they live in.

Grasslands Info They are Terrestrial Ecosystems Terrestrial Eco-systems are Forests and Grasslands Aquatic Eco-systems are lakes and ponds Grasslands have fertile land with tall grasses They get less than forests rain and get medium amount Temperature depend on were they are located

Animals In The Grasslands The Animal life is Prairie dogs, mice, bison, grasshoppers, African Elephants, zebras, Black Rhinoceros, Black-footed Ferret’s, Brown Hyena’s, Giraffes and much more

What Does It Look Like They have bright green grass many trees clear weather Many people like to hike there Called Savannahs, plains, and pampas They have woody shrubs

Famous locations In Africa, Russia, Turkey, India, and south America, Toronto and more

Main Forest Info - Forest ecosystems are found in area's where the temperature of the air is mild & where there is lot's of rainfall - There are 3 major types of forest ecosystems which are the deciduous forest, coniferous forest, and the tropical forest - Trees have needles and leaves which are usually on ferns, shrubs, and a variety of animals and grasses - Forest usually have more rain than grassland

Animals In The Forest - The animals that live in a deciduous forest are black bears, red fox, vole, cardinals and rabbits - Animals that live in a rain forest are panther, monkeys, capybara, snakes, and spider's

Deciduous Forest -Have trees that lose there leaves each fall -The animals that live in that area are bears, rabbits, deer, snakes, and owls. -Plants that are most common to grow there are ferns and moss.

Tropical Rainforest - Are found in warmer area’s with lots of rain fall - This forest is dense with lots of plants and animal life - There are thousands of different organisms that live in the rainforest - Animals that live in this area are monkeys, reptiles, parrots, and toucans

Coniferous Forest -Coniferous forest are in areas that have colder temps. -They contain trees that produce seeds in cones and that have leaves shaped like needles and pine trees -Animals that live in this area are finches, jays, elk., moose, beaver’s, and wolves.
