Occupational Therapy Service for Adults with a Learning Disability

Occupational Therapists working in Learning Disability Services Provide a specialist service with comprehensive assessment of individuals Specialist knowledge of the complex needs of individuals with learning disabilities Individuals ability to engage in meaningful activity

Craigmill Skill Centre Provides therapeutic interventions to a range of individuals with learning disabilities from the site residences and to community day attendees

OT Caseload OT works within a Multidisciplinary Team Receive referrals direct from health professions and outside agencies

OT Provides Self care activities – from learning to eat and drink with specialised equipment to enabling the individual to access facilities in their local community Productive activities – from developing basic work or home skills to accessing employment Leisure activities – from developing hobbies and interests to taking part in more active recreation Advice on daily routines/structures, housing design/adaptations, provision of equipment

OT Interventions Various activities to engage individuals in meaningful activity Community Living Skills breakfast, lunch, tea groups baking, shopping, money management, community trips.
