UNIVERSITY OF DELHI GUIDE TO NEW FOUR YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME FIRST YEAR ALL STUDENTS WILL BE PROVIDED FREE LAPTOPS CHOOSE YOUR MAIN / MAJOR SUBJECT Choose and study your main subject for your Honours / B. Tech degree. This main subject is called DC-I Foundation courses In addition, to the above main major subject you will be exposed to Foundation Courses (FC). These courses will help you to understand the challenges of India. You will work in a hands-on manner. FOURTH YEAR MAIN / MAJOR SUBJECT You will now study at a deep level your main / major subject (DC I). You will also be exposed to Research. 75 % Weightage MINOR SUBJECT You will continue the study of your choice of DC II subjects to enhance your knowledge outside your major area of study. 25 % Weightage UNIVERSITY OF DELHI GUIDE TO NEW FOUR YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME

You are welcome to study at the University of Delhi. You must first go through PAMPHLET A to understand the entire course structure. Please visit regularly our website and read newspapers for information on the dates to learn when the Pre-admission forms shall be made available and for information on the dates and places of submission. UNIVERSITY OF DELHI FOR THE PROSPECTIVE STUDENT

Once you get the pre-admission form (from June 05, 2013) then fill it with the courses you wish to study for an Honours/B.Tech degree. UNIVERSITY OF DELHI FOR THE PROSPECTIVE STUDENT The rules for admission have not been changed from the previous years. To gain admission the colleges will announce their cut offs for every course. Please look at your aggregate (best of three/four) and if you are above the cut off you will be eligible to seek admission into that course of the college.

In this new Four Year Undergraduate Programme, you will have great flexibility and wide ranging choices. UNIVERSITY OF DELHI ADVANTAGES OF THE FOUR YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM This new programme is designed to combine knowledge with practical skills. You will thus be better equipped to get employment or become an entrepreneur or go for higher end research based studies.

You will be provided free laptops for your first year of study and you will be given special language, communication, IT, data analysis and science and life skills in a gentle user friendly practical manner. UNIVERSITY OF DELHI ADVANTAGES OF THE FOUR YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM You will be exposed to the challenges of India and you will gain better insight into your chosen subject of study for which you have the chance to earn an Honours/B.Tech degree.

SPORTS / NCC / NSS / EXTRA (CO) CURRICULAR You will be happy to learn that after admissions if you choose to participate in a sports related activity (or the N.C.C./N.S.S. Extra or Co-Curricular activity) you will be able to gain credit for your chosen Honours/B.Tech degree for this sports/NCC/NSS Extra (Co) Curricular activity. UNIVERSITY OF DELHI ADVANTAGES OF THE FOUR YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

MULTIPLE DEGREE OPTION UNIVERSITY OF DELHI ADVANTAGES OF THE FOUR YEAR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM Though we do not wish or encourage this, in case you wish or have to leave college after two years, DU shall acknowledge your education and award you a diploma. You can return to DU in the future to complete your education. Similarly, if you wish or have to leave after three years, DU shall give you a Bachelor’s degree with a Major (subject). Needless to say after 4 years you would be awarded a Bachelor Honours/B.Tech with your Major (subject).
