Electro Eye-Hye System II Traditional Electro Eye-Hye® System with ECIL Model Control Unit Water Column With Multiple Horizontal Probes Optional Junction Box Control Unit Indicator(s)
The Electrolev Pressures to 3000 PSI 1” minimum Probe spacing Optional Vessel Conns. Optional integral NEMA 4 junction box Insulation jackets Standard Models 10, 12 & 20 Probes Refer to the catalog for actual column model numbers. There are 4 pressure classes available to choose from, as follows: 450, 1000, 1800, and 3000 PSI. Other options include flanged and female socket-weld vessel connections. Our standard vessel connections are 1” male pipe projections, which are usually welded to the customer supplied isolation valves. Our standard drain connection is a 1/2” female socket-weld connection. Optional drain extensions are available, on request. The probe housing is constructed from stainless steel. There is 30” of high temperature probes wires extending from the housing on standard units. Extra wire length is available, upon request. However, the integral junction box option includes all factory wiring to a terminal block, which is very convenient for the installer
The Probes The”T” and “V” probes are designed with teflon insulators, which are subjected to a 4500 PSI hydrotest in order to press-fit the tapered insulator and center rod into place. Therefore, these probes are not repairable. However, the “T” and “V” probes have an average service life of 5 to 15 years depending upon the installation. The”ZG” and “FG” probes can be repaired, with repair kits, which include all components, except the center rod, end connector, hex or flanged body, and the zirconium oxide (yellow) insulator. These repair kits are available at approximately 20% of the cost of a new probe. C-R offers a factory rebuild service for these probes, with a minimum quantity of 10 pieces, at approximately 50% of the cost of new probes. Factory rebuilt probes are subjected to a 4500 PSI hydrotest and a 3000 volt hypot test, which is the same testing as all new probes. The average service life of “ZG” and “FG” probes is 3 to 5 years, which depends upon water quality and the frequency of pressure cycling. The threaded type probes (T, V, and ZG) are installed into the columns with a 5/8-24 UNEF -3 thread and sealing gasket.
Models with Brazed Probes for Extended Service for Applications with High Frequency Cycling
ECIL Series Control Unit
ECIL - Series Controls Modular plug-in relays with red led status indicators, and each module is individually fused 12 VAC power to the probes A Pre-wired set of dry form C switch contacts rated at 5 Amp @ 240 VAC or 30 VDC for each probe level Optional 4-20 mA output with stepped output signal relative to probe locations These features and those continued on the next slide should be written into specifications, whenever possible. In addition, the repairable probe feature, when applicable, based upon the model of the system.
ECIL - Series Controls Bypass (Holding Switch) - Permits blow-down of column without causing a false trip. Models available with a adjustable timer for operator convenience Test Switch Circuit - Enables user to test all relays and indicator lights with a two wire push button switch. Fault Detection - For local indication of system status and dry output switch to interface other systems. These features and those continued on the next slide should be written into specifications, whenever possible. In addition, the repairable probe feature, when applicable, based upon the model of the system.
Indicators Available in Two Styles: Miniature & Sub-Miniature Bi-Color / Easy to Read Operates on 24 VAC from the control unit LED’s designed to provide more than 10 years of service life For panel mounting or with optional weatherproof enclosures for outdoor installations Sub-Miniature Indicator Both indicator styles are designed with high intensity LED’s, for long service life of at least 10 proven years. The larger style (miniature) indicator is designed with redundant LED’s to prevent a false signal in the unlikely event of a lamp failure. Each indicator for panel mounting will be provided with the probe locations engraved on the nameplate, and back-filed with black paint, as shown on the miniature model. These indicators can be provided with a weatherproof enclosure for mounting in other logical locations, such as control valve stations, drum locations, and feedwater stations. Additional features on slide 26. Miniature Indicator
