To develop and provide excellent customer service, retail opportunities and quality manufactured goods for our customers which will empower blind and visually impaired Virginians in achieving their maximum level of gainful employment and career development. VIB’s Mission

Originally called the Virginia Association of Workers for the Blind this building was erected in 1929 and is the site of VIB’s Headquarters and Charlottesville manufacturing facility. About Virginia Industries for the Blind (VIB) What we used to look like.

Some interesting Numbers Packaged 1 ½ tons of spices. 1,000,000+ pens, pencils and markers assembled/packaged last year. 300,000+ boxes of Latex, Nitrile, Vinyl and EMS gloves packaged last year. Almost 25,000 mattresses shipped. Over 71,000 wet mop heads made. 14,000+ pillows shipped Safety Vests. Helped recoup over $32.1M at CDCO for the State Sorted mail in support of 9,500 Air Force personnel at Langley AFB. Used Zero General Fund dollars VIB currently employs 99 legally blind Virginians. We are always looking for opportunities to employ more.
