INTARC 29 – Computers Skills for Interior Architectural Design FINAL BY: DULCE CESPEDES INSTRUCTOR: SHEILA CORDOVA

Microsoft word allows you to type up documents. You can insert images and use tools such as arrows and symbols to point to certain areas. It is easy to use and can be used for presentation.

Excel allows you to create spreadsheets to manage your projects. You can do calculations and add graphs. It is a great resource to keep budgets or inventory for a project.

AutoCAD creates 2D and 3D designs. You can create floor plans and elevations. It has different features such as hatching to create dimension. You can insert furniture and plumbing fixtures to create a room. There are many commands you can use to do different things.

Sketch Up is a modeling software that lets you create a 3D model of a building or object. You can create depth and use shadowing to make it more realistic. I used it to create this media center.

Revit is a program that allows you to create a 3D building. It is possible to draft it in 2D and have a 3D view of it opened to see how it’s forming. You can use different materials and objects in it and once rendered look real as shown in the left.

Photoshop is a great program that allows you to edit images such as renderings on floor plans. Here I used it to bring color to the floors and furniture. I was also able to add a dog and woman in my 3D model.
