PPTA Governance Review (Background) Governance Review Task Force

Formation  Strategic planning occurs at least once per year with PPTA Generally in April  Discussions ensued that process and organization may be enhanced and improved for PPTA  At the same time, APTA started in depth discussions and planning for governance review

Task Force  Board motion approved to form a task force to address the potential restructuring of PPTA Task force is created to complete work in a short period of time, present the work to the Board and then dissolve  Goal was to enhance participation of members in leadership roles and how to become a leaner more efficient machine

Task Force Composition  Initially chaired by Mike Johnson and currently chaired by Colleen Chancler  Participation in the task force was done by appointment from the Board of Directors (BoD)  Names were submitted to the BoD after solicitation from membership and district chairs  Appointments were confirmed and all work was to be completed electronically to neutralize costs Use of GoToMeetings

Meetings  All meetings were conducted via GoToMeeting  Task Force (TF) members included Nate Barr, Robin Dole, Rita Geddes, Karl Gibson, Sarah Jameson, Kris von Nieda, Greg Waite and Jane Wetzel All members of the TF provided hours of time and talented discussion Some TF conversations included members for a single conversation
