Objective: Understanding the composition of the sun and phenomena that occurs there.

 Chromosphere – layer of the atmosphere above the photosphere  Convection Layer – transports heat by rising currents of hot gas  Corona – largest/hottest layer of the atmosphere (1 million K)

 Photosphere – “surface” of the sun; gives off light  Prominence – eruptions on the solar surface  Radiation Layer – energy from fusion in the core moves outward
