- We Are Not The Standard: –We should never gauge our growth as, “We are better than…” –For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. - II Corinthians 10:12.
– We Must Have Faith: –God will never fail to supply us with the necessities to accomplish His will. –5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you.“ 6 So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?“ - Hebrews 13:5-6.
– We Must Be Optimistic: –We should be too busy to expect failure. There is strength behind the people of God. –I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13.
– Prepare For Battle: –The devil will do everything in his power to disrupt and destroy the work here. –10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. - Ephesians 6:10-11.
- Strive To Excel: –Elders, deacons, preachers, teachers, and all disciples must resolve to do their very best. Being satisfied is to be spiritually dead. –24 Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping. 25 'And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours. 26 "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. - Matthew 25:24-26.
- Honestly Deal With Flaws: –We must not try to hid the bad in the good, but honestly evaluate ourselves. –Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? -- unless indeed you are disqualified. - II Corinthians 13:5.
- Address The Needs Of All Ages: –Do not neglect anyone (young or old). All have a spiritual need, and are valuable. –20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you.“ - I Corinthians 12:20-21.
- Demand Strong Teaching\Preaching: –We can never settle for half truth, we must demand the whole counsel of God. –2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. - II Timothy 4:2-5.
– Send Forth The gospel: –We must not be ashamed, we are the only hope to many of ever hearing the truth. –For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything. - I Thessalonians 1:8.
–Everyone (no exception) needs to know that they are loved and appreciated Encourage The Brethren: –11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves. - I Thessalonians 5:11-13.
