When a Restart Strategy is Your Only HOPE in Church Revitalization Greg Kappas Vice President, The Timothy Imitative Mark Weible Church Planting Director, GOBA

When a Restart Strategy is Your Only HOPE in Revitalization Make sure there is growth potential in the facility's location. Celebrate the existing church's past. Close the doors of the church for a time.

When a Restart Strategy is Your Only HOPE in Revitalization! Transfer control from local church power brokers to a steering committee of mostly outsiders.

When a Restart Strategy is Your Only HOPE in Revitalization  Change the church's name.  Develop a fresh vision for the community.  Call a new church pastor with energy and faith.

Observations about providing HOPE in a Restart Revitalization Effort It is the greatest asset of a revitalization pastor, person, or church. It is often the only difference between success and failure.

Observations about providing HOPE in a Restart Revitalization Effort! Providing hope is the revitalization leaders responsibility.

Observations about providing HOPE in a Restart Revitalization Effort How a leader offers HOPE to people: Help people change their way of thinking. Offer security in times of doubt. Put some wins under their belt. Express sincerely our belief in them.

Other Things to Consider in the Restart Based Church Revitalization ● To use this model it is critical that a church revitalization restart contract be developed between the old church and the new church plant. ●Appoint a church revitalization transition committee (CRTC) that is made up of those outside the existing church. ●Empower the CRTC to make all decisions from the beginning. ●Research target area for what type of new work will have the greatest chance for survival.
