Presentation transcript:

Visit our website Dear Parents, It’s nearly the end of term and indeed the end of the academic year, all of which means I’d like to reflect on the ‘FOCSS school report’ for 2010/11 It would be fair to say that back in October things looked a little bleak for FOCSS. A lack of members meant our charity faced closure after 22 years in existence. However, due to the dedication of a few committed individuals and your continued support at our events, we’re actually finishing the year on bit of a high. Thanks to your generosity FOCSS has raised about £6,000 this year through events like the Dragon Boat Race, Christmas Fair, School Disco, Fashion Show and of course the recent Summer Fair and Pet Show – which made about £2,500 alone. This is a truly amazing achievement, especially when put into the context of a tough economic climate and the fact that we are actually only a small school of about 115 pupils! The challenge now is to spend the money wisely and in ways that’ll best benefit the pupils. So in consultation with Mr Ryan, FOCSS has agree to contribute towards the cost of refurbishing the toilets, the resurfacing of the playground, the end of term trips and finally to pay for a new outside sports kit. Of course, we’re always on the look out for interesting new fund raising ideas. So if you have one, please let us know. Finally, now all that remains is for me to wish you all a very happy summer holiday and we look forward to seeing you again next term. Best wishes Paul Squirrell – Chairman Messenger July 2011 Contents: Letter from Chairman Camp Out Your FOCSS Dates for your diary 16 th July: Games Afternoon & Camp Out

We will be announcing the date at the start of the new team. Your FOCSS… A final reminder… The Games Afternoon and Camp Out on Saturday 16th July starts from 3pm. Games for the kids in the afternoon will be followed by a BBQ in the evening. Liquid refreshment is provided by a reasonably priced licensed BAR selling wine, beer and soft drinks. The evening continues into the night around a fire with music and entertainment. For those who camp a bacon roll or croissant breakfast will start your Sunday. Tickets are now on sale in the school office at a cost of £5 per head if purchased in advance, (£7.50 on the day). Charges apply to all parents and any children of school age but toddlers are free. Ticket costs cover the BBQ and breakfast but not the BAR! We look forward to seeing you there.
