There are 3 Major Divisions of Science Take a look at your packet, can you guess which picture represents each division?

Any of the sciences that deal with living materials

The natural sciences primarily dealing with nonliving materials.

Any of the sciences that deal with the Earth or one of its parts.

__________________ - any of the sciences that deal with living materials A. Ecology – the study of the relationship of organisms in the environment B. ____________ - the study of living things and life processes C. Botany – the study of plants (branch of biology) D. Zoology – the study of animal kingdoms and animal life

__________________ - any of the sciences that deal with the Earth or one of its parts A. __________________ - the study of the atmosphere and its phenomena (weather) B. Geology – the study of the history of the Earth and its life (rocks) C. Palentology – the study of the geological remains from the past D. Archeology – the science that deals with the natural features of the Earth and its climate, products, and inhabitants
