Bulgaria Hi! I’m Gergana, and I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. We lived in an apartment there. It was in the center of Sofia. We drove a car to school.

Capital The capital of Bulgaria is Sofia. These are the churches in the center in Bulgaria. Sofia is smaller than Birmingham.

President and Prime Minister The President is Georgi Parvanov. The Prime Minister is Boyko Borisov.

Population The population of Bulgaria is 7,364,570 people. The population of USA is 312,642,000 people.

The colors of the flag The colors of the Bulgarian flag are: White Green Red

Weather in Bulgaria The weather in Bulgaria during the summer is so hot. In the winter is cold. But in the fall and in the spring is a little cold and a little warm which is good, but is rain a lot.

Bulgarian food Some popular foods in Bulgaria are: Lunkanka (sausage) Tarator (cucumber and yogurt soup) Sishcheta (Like a shish kabob)

More Food Shopska salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese) Kozunak (bread with sugar, like a cake) I really like when we go to the restaurants. The restaurants are like the restaurants in the US but with Bulgarian food. Some American restaurants that we have are McDonalds and Subway.

Sports in Bulgaria Soccer is the most popular sport in Bulgaria. In Bulgarian it is called “Football”! Only men play soccer in Bulgaria. For women, gymnastics is popular.

Words in Bulgarian In Bulgarian, we have a different alphabet. Hello = здравей (zdravei) Goodbye = довиждане (dovijdanei) Thank you = благодаря (blagodara)
