Roman citizens living far from the city of Rome 4. Roman citizens living in the city of Rome 5. Hun warriors Use the Internet, textbook (Ch. 2, Section 2), or other resources to create a list of 7 questions and 7 answers that a news reporter might ask members of your assigned groups. Focus on the problems that each group might have experienced. Create a TV newscast about the situation in the Roman Empire. Be prepared to read your newscast to the class. Requirements: Write the newscast script on pgs. 14 and 15 of your notebook. Your script must include at least 7 questions and 7 detailed answers as well as any other newscaster dialogue desired.

Nightly News from Rome Template Pgs. 14 and 15 of your notebook * News Anchor: Provide a 7-10 sentence update on the situation in Rome. Use Ch. 2, Section 2 and the “Fall of the Western Roman Empire” Chart as a guide. Example: The Roman Empire is in a state of chaos. We are experiencing problems from both outside and inside our borders. Our economy is unstable and we are working to fight off multiple invasions… * BREAKING NEWS! We now go live on the scene with our reporter interviewing a __________________ [insert your group]. * Reporter and Group Member Dialogue. The reporter must ask the interviewee at least 7 questions on the situation in Rome, focusing on their perspective on the situation in Rome and any problems the group member may be experiencing. Must be at least 1 page. Example: BREAKING NEWS! We now go live on the scene with our reporter interviewing a Roman soldier posted far from the city of Rome. Reporter: How do you feel about defending the Roman Empire’s borders so far from your home? Roman soldier: Well, I am committed to being loyal my emperor and the military, however, sometimes it feels like our borders are too large to defend. For example, my friends and I are stationed here in Eastern Gaul, but our army is only so large. If barbarians try to invade from the West, we won’t be able to stop them.
