 What: Jardine Cribs  Recall Date: June 24, 2008  Why: The wooden crib slats and spindles can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants.  Incidents: There have been 42 incidents of crib slats and spindles breaking. Four children became entrapped in the space created by a broken slat or spindle. Two of the children had abrasions and bruising  Number of Units Sold: 32,000 ($220-$330) [1]  When Sold: November 2005-May 2008 *Source: US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) ISE 427 Chahal11/4/20101

 Recognition of Problem: The cribs recalled have been manufactured from There have 42 incidents of slates and spindles breaking. Four children have been entrapped in the space created by the broken slate or spindle. [3]  Speed of Response: There have been many models that have been recalled. Since 2007 there have been 320,000 cribs recalled. [2] There have been over 28 different models recalled as well. [4]  Responsibility: I have not been able to find a article or letter from Jardine Cribs stating they were at fault or that they were sympathetic to the injured victims. ISE 427 Chahal11/4/20102

 Legal Consequences: I could not find anything about the legal issues with Jardine cribs. I found many lawyers advertising services to go after Jardine cribs but nothing else.  Reputation: According to several parenting websites which review cribs, Jardine Cribs seems to be getting some good reviews mixed in with a couple of bad here and there. It appears that Jardine Cribs reputation has not been tarnished by this recall. [5]  Sales: According to Toys”R”US website, it seems that Jardine Cribs are no longer sold.
