Ancient Rome By: Jacob Kincer and Jovanni Velazquez

Clothing  Men and Women would wear long robes.  Gladiators and Warriors wore armor such as breastplates, helmets, belts, shoes, shields and swords.

Religion  They were polytheistic.  There gods and goddesses were: Apollo, Bacchus, Ceres, Cupid, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, Pluto, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Juno….. and many others.

Food  Bread  Cheese  Honey  Fish  Oysters  Meat

Daily Life  Breakfast  Adults after breakfast would head down to the forums to shop and banking  While adults were at the forums the children were at school  When they got home they played with friend, toys, and pets.  Then the men had dinner parties while the women and children at separately.

Other Beliefs  Each house was a temple to the gods

Writing System  Written in scrolls on buildings and coins  It is known as Latin

Scientific Ideas  They studied plant life  Amazed by volcanoes and earthquakes  They had water work (pluming)

Medicines  Herbs:  Herbs: Fennel, Elecampane, Sage, Garlic, Fenugreek, Silphium, and Willow.

Valley   Jordan Valley was one of the valley’s in Ancient Rome.

Mountains   Mt. Vesuvius, a roughly 4300-feet high and was a very deadly volcano.

Rivers   The Tiber, also known in Latin as Tiberis and in Italian as Tevere, is the third-longest river in Italy.

Climate   The climate in Ancient Rome was like a Mediterranean desert.

Bibliography  Ancient Rome was a strong yet small civilization at first but grew to become bigger. The Roman Empire adopted some of the Greek’s religion. Also, they took over Italy and were the first to have gladiator’s. They were very good astronomers.

Fun Facts  There weapons were usually swords, bows and arrows, and spears  One torture devices was a breaking wheel  The Roman Coliseum use to be a whole building yet is broken in certain places.  For defense they used shield’s as big as there bodies usually, sometimes with spikes.
