Department of Economic Development ~ encourages outside investment, trade, and tourism in Georgia ~ especially encourages film production here (Forest Gump, The Blind Side, and Zombieland were filmed in Georgia)

Department of Natural Resources (DNR) ~ keeps Georgia’s rivers and lakes safe and clean ~ operates state parks and preserves state historical sites ~ enforces state hunting, fishing, and boating laws

Department of Education (DOE) ~ founded in 1870 ~ oversees all faucets of public education in Georgia ~ ensures educational laws are followed ~ ensures that federal and state funds are used properly ~ State Superintendent reports directly to Governor Department of Education (DOE) 5 offices: (1) Curriculum and Instruction (2) Finance and Business Operations (3) Instructional Technology and Media (4) Policy and External Affairs (5)Teacher and Student Support
