Puffins, also known as sea parrots, are colorful seabirds, live in cold artic waters. They are expert swimmers and divers.

In the artic, some animals have brown fur that turns white in winter. When it snows, predators have a hard time seeing them.

Ice hockey is Canada’s most popular sport, both played and watched.

In 1873, the Royal Canadian mounted police was founded. They maintained law and order during the rowdy gold rush days in the Yukon.

Native people of the pacific coast are famous for their wood carving and totem poles.

Musk ox live in the cold northern Canadian territories. The summer there is so short that the ice under the surface never fully thaws, The ground is called permafrost.

Maple trees are “tapped” in the late winter when the tree makes its sap. The fluid is caught in buckets and boiled into a think maple syrup.

The Niagra Falls is actually two falls. The American falls and the Horse shoe falls. They are a part of the border between the United States and Canada.

The northern lights, or aurora borealis are a display of colored lights in the night sky.

The rugged bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world, rising up to 70 ft daily.
