Fun facts about trees :-D

Dust carried by the wind can be limited to 75% thanks to the trees. Smoke and unpleasant smells can be absorbed by the trees and substituted by trees’ natural odors.

The yew-tree in Henryków Lubański is the oldest tree in Poland. Its age is estimated at 1260 years.

The spruce in the Backwoods of Białowieża is the biggest tree in Poland. It is 51,8 meters high and 323 centimeters wide.

Maple syrup is made of the sugar maple tree which is common in North America. A maple leaf is a recognizable symbol on the Canadian flag.

Some trees and bushes, such as pine, birch or juniper produce germicidal substances which make areas around the trees free from bacteria.

In Leszno, in an old park of Karpinek, there is the widest tree in Poland. It is a poplar and it is 11,20 meters wide and 1,3 meters high.

In Buczyna Szprotawska there is the biggest oak called Chrobry. Acorns of this tree are called the Pope’s Acorns because they were hallowed by John Paul II. Then they were used as seeds for new trees and were planted all around Poland.
