2 Re-introduction 2 NameKaren Vaughan Job TitleDigital Services Coordinator InstitutionOld Dominion University Libraries DigCCurr Professional Institute

33 What I planned to accomplish Re-evaluate and revise digitization program documents, including workflows (incorporate preservation, OAIS) Complete and document Women’s Center project using CONTENTdm How I saw myself carrying out your plan Work with Digital Initiatives Team; create 5-year plan Train staff, complete project, document process What resources I neededStaff; CONTENTdm training My expected challengesLearning by doing and re-doing My six-month plan DigCCurr Professional Institute

44 How I carried out the plan (or components of the plan) Worked with team to create 5-year plan for digital projects Worked with staff on project What changed about my plan Delegated planning work to small groups, rather than myself My biggest successesCompleted (almost) Women’s Center project My biggest challenges Learning and working with CONTENTdm Uninterrupted project time; relying on others not under my supervision What I accomplished DigCCurr Professional Institute

55 What I will accomplish by next January Hopefully merging preservation and digitization policies/procedures Completing projects following planned timeline Assessment policies/procedures How I will carry this out What resources will be most helpful? Adding a metadata person to the working group What I expect to be the biggest challenges Not having other library activities take priority Future goals DigCCurr Professional Institute

66 Areas of my plan that require collaboration Because we don’t have a department dedicated to digitizing, the planning and development of digital collections involves staff from many library departments. Possibilities for collaborating within my institution Once we get the hang of planning and developing collections, we can involve other university departments (digital humanities, history, etc) Possibilities for collaborating with other Institute members Opportunities for collaboration DigCCurr Professional Institute
