Presentation transcript:

The Ant and the Dove

An ant was playing on the tree near the river bank.

He fell down in the water.

The water rushed along so fast that he was washed off the bank into the river.

He cried, but his voice was so tiny that it could not be heard. "Help! help! help!" I shall drown! He cried, but his voice was so tiny that it could not be heard.

A dove was sitting in a tree that overhung the water.

She saw the ant struggling.

She quickly nipped off a leaf.

Dove let the leaf fall into the water.

The ant climbed upon the leaf.

Ant floated down the river until the leaf was washed upon the bank of the stream.

"Thank you, kind dove, you have saved my life;" Ant apologized Dove for saving his life.

Several days after this, a hunter crept carefully up to the tree.

The dove was again sitting in a tree.

The hunter aimed his arrow at the dove

The hunter was about to leave his arrow.

The hunter was bitten in the leg by an ant.

He cried out with pain.

He missed his aim.

This frightened the dove and she flew away.

The ant heard and was glad. "Thank you, kind ant," The ant heard and was glad.
