What to Look For

 No luggage or identification  Rooms paid for in cash  Anyone: who appears fearful, disoriented, or disheveled who shows signs of physical abuse who is being restricted from moving or communicating  Young people made up to look significantly older with significantly older “boyfriends” What to Look For - Guests Based on material provided by Ramsey County Attorney's Office, St. Paul, MN

 Call 911 even if just a suspicion even if not an “emergency”  When you call: Operator passes info along to local law enforcement Officer comes to check out situation and people Low-key – no lights, no sirens, no commotion (unless the situation warrants it)  What happens if you’re wrong? “If you see something, say something.” Based on material provided by Ramsey County Attorney's Office, St. Paul, MN What to Do

 Don’t take payments in cash  Require guests and visitors to register (provide names and ID)  Partner with law enforcement on investigations Example: offer rooms for undercover operations Based on material provided by Ramsey County Attorney's Office, St. Paul, MN Other Ways to Help

 DVD Less than 20 minutes, with background information, plus what to look for and what to do Goal: viewed by every current employee, plus all new hires  Poster What to look for and what to do Keep in employee break rooms and other “back of house” areas  Both available in Spanish, Hmong, and Somali Based on material provided by Ramsey County Attorney's Office, St. Paul, MN Accompanying Tools
