Many people believe that God is just like them: liar, tempted, etc. But, he is not (Psa. 50:21) God’s nature is divine and he does not change his nature (Mal. 3:6; Rom. 11:29; Jas. 1:17)
God cannot act with respect of persons (Deut. 10:17; Acts 10:34; Rom. 2:11; Eph. 6:9; Col. 3:25; Gal. 2:6; 1 Pet. 1:17; 2 Sam. 14:14) – Mankind often acts prejudicially; he sets double-standards (Prov. 28:21; Jas. 2:1-9) – God will never treat people differently with regard to their salvation or judgment (Mt. 11:28; 1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9; Rev. 22:17)
God cannot author confusion (1 Cor. 14:33) – Mankind often cause confusion in this world: confused morality, confused religion, etc. – God will never confuse mankind with contradictory principles; he will never act contrary to what he has revealed in his word (Psa. 31:5; Jn. 8:32; 14:6; 17:17)
God cannot be fooled or mocked (Gal. 6:7) – Mankind often fools others and is fooled; believing they can live any way and still go to heaven – God will not allow himself to be fooled or mocked; he knows all things (1 Jn. 3:20)
God cannot lie (Tit. 1:2; Heb. 6:18; Num. 23:19; 1 Sam. 15:29) – Mankind lies, is unreliable and untrustworthy – God is always a source of truth and trust (Psa. 19:9); he is full of integrity and trustworthy (Rom. 3:3-4; 1 Cor. 1:9; 2 Tim. 2:13); his promises are sure (Col. 1:5; 1 Thess. 5:24)
God cannot act unjustly (Heb. 6:10) – Mankind is often unfair and unjust – God is always fair, right and just
God cannot be ashamed of the faithful (Heb. 11:6; Job 1:8) – Mankind often turns away from what is right – God will never cease to support the faithful
God cannot be tempted with evil or tempt man with evil (Jas. 1:13) – Mankind often gives into temptation and tempts others – God is holy and will not give into temptation (Ex. 15:11; Hab. 1:13; Psa. 99:9), nor will he lure others into temptation (1 Cor. 10:13)
God cannot fellowship sin and error (1 Jn. 1:5-7) – Mankind often sins and joins hands with sin – God will never sin nor will he ever fellowship sin (Rom. 8:8; 1 Cor. 10:21); he will walk only with those who walk with him (Lev. 26:23-24; Amos 3:3; 2 Jn. 9)
