Presentation transcript:

We have now made biomass for renewable energy our core business The Group has been involved in the last 30 years in various business in the trading and recycling of plastics, manufacture of plastic products and in the last 5 years in renewable energy primarily for the power sector in Europe. The recycling of plastic materials and manufacture of plastic products for export has resulted in an international network of partners and support infrastructure for our biomass business.

The Group now has an international network of offices, factories, warehouse and associate companies, that span Asia and Europe.

Diyou Future Biomass was established in 2009 with the primary objective of building it’s business upon the abundant Palm Oil waste found in this country. It has since then been involved in the manufacture and trading of various palm oil waste products. The range of products includes PVC-palm oil EFB fiber composite profiles, EFB dried long fiber, briquettes, pellets and palm kernel shell. The company also has experience in new technologies involving using torrefaction and recently, thermolysis processes to convert EFB to Biocarbon suitable for shipment to Europe for the power plant industries. Biocoal is classified by EU rules as clean energy suitable for the replacement of coal. In 2011, the company decided to focus it’s attention on Biomass from the abundant waste from rice husk and rice stems.

The EU member states have to drastically increase the proportion of electricity from renewable energies – due to the specifications of the Kyoto protocol and the EU Renewable Energy Directive. In contrast to water, wind and sunlight, biomass is the only energy source which does not depend on the weather and guarantees a stable supply of clean fuel for energy production. The Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCCC is an amendment to the international treaty signed in 1992 on climate change, assigning mandatory emission limitations for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to the signatory nations. During the last ten years in Europe from 2001 to 2010, around 350 biomass power plants with a capacity of more than 3,000 MW came into operation. A further growth by up to 2,000 MW can be expected for the next five years. In 2010, it was estimated that Europe needed 40 Million MT of Biomass. Of this figure, Poland itself required 10 Million MT.

Market Potential Demand Forecast of Biomass Pellets Demand in East-Asia – Japan, Korea & China - Assessed in range of 5-10 Million MT by Demand in Europe - Dictate by European Renewable Energy Policy. Biomass demand increase by 44 % btw driven by energy sector. - Import of Biomass Pellets to EU– increased 50% in to 2.5 Million MT. EU trade rose 60% to 3.45 MT. - Overall trade globally to hit 60 Mil MT by 2020 Source By : European Pellet Council Report.

Emphasis is being placed on the use of renewable energy and increasing energy efficiency as Malaysia commits to 40% reduction in carbon intensity by The Government aims to introduce the Feed-in Tariff and Renewable Energy Fund to encourage the implementation of renewable energy projects. With its oil and gas reserves predicted to last for only another 3 decades the Government is providing incentives through the Green Technology Financing Scheme worth RM2.7 billion to enhance the application of green technology and the implementation of the Small Renewable Energy Programme also promotes small power plants, utilizing renewable energy, to sell electricity to the state-owned electricity utility. This programme applies to all types of renewable energy, including biomass, biogas, municipal waste, solar, mini-hydro and wind. Diyou Future Biomass has positioned itself to be part of this Vision and has set it’s Mission as being a Leader in this Programme.
