Rationale For Wearing A Tie The tie is part of the school uniform. An ACSian who is neat and proper in his appearance shows respect to the School. Only P5 and P6 pupils wear the school tie so that they can be good role models for their younger “brothers” in the school. School tie is worn on Fridays for chapel or other formal events such as Founder’s Day or Honour’s Day

Prefects: Wear daily and during recess duties. Only remove the tie in the classroom before going for recess. Keep tie in locker or school bags. When To Wear The Tie?

How To Tie? Method : Four-in-hand Knot

Step 1 Start with the wide end ("W") of your necktie on the right, extending about 30cm below the narrow end ("N") on the left. Step 2 Cross the wide end over the narrow end.

Step 3 Turn the wide end back underneath the narrow end. Step 4 Continue by bringing the wide end back over in front of the narrow end again.

Step 5 Then, pull the wide end up and through the loop around your neck. Step 6 Hold the front of the knot loosely with your index finger and bring the wide end down through the front loop.

Step 7 At last, remove your finger and tighten the knot carefully to the collar by holding the narrow end and sliding the knot up.
