Senior Year Enrollment Enrollment will begin in February 2015 Begin planning now which classes you need to complete for graduation. Refer to the graduation requirements and use a credit check sheet if needed.

Concurrent Enrollment Earn college credit while in high school Must take the ACT and score at least a 19 composite. Must be enrolled in at least 3 Mustang High School classes in the same block (i.e. 1 st -3 rd hour or 5 th -7 th hour)

Junior Checklist Research colleges you are interested in attending and learn admission requirements (i.e. ACT, GPA, class rank, required high school courses) Begin applying as early as July 2015 Take classes that meet college entrance requirements. Explore opportunities to earn college credit while in high school, like Concurrent Enrollment and AP Courses.

Junior Checklist Schedule college visits to schools you are interested in attending. You are allowed 2 college visit days each year. Your absence will not count against your allotted 12 absences per semester or your semester test exemptions. Take the ACT/SAT exams ACT and SAT are competing exams. Most colleges will take either the ACT or SAT exam.

What is the ACT? The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test. ACT results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the US. The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete, including a short break

Why test your Junior year? You'll have the opportunity to retest if you feel your scores don't accurately reflect your abilities in the areas tested. You'll have your test scores and other information in time to help you plan your senior year. (For example, you may decide to take an additional class in an area in which your test score was low.) Colleges will know of your interests and have your scores in time to contact you during the summer before your senior year, when many of them are sending information about admissions, course placement, scholarships, and special programs to prospective students.
