OSPF Extensions for ASON Routing draft-ietf-ccamp-gmpls-ason-routing-ospf-02.txt IETF67 - San Diego - Nov’06 Dimitri Papadimitriou (Alcatel)

Progress since IETF66 Became WG I-D after check v01.txt incorporates comments received on the list, discussion during ietf66 meeting and other improvements to facilitate reading V02.txt - editorial: includes definitions (part of info RFC 4652) in Section 5.1 and 5.2

v00 - > v01.txt - Summary Section 5 –clarify processing of router_address TLV –clarify processing of link_id sub-TLV Section 6 –Editorial: re-worked structure of the text –Section 6: detail relationship between OSPF area and ASON RA –Section 6.1: specific section detailing import/export rules –Section 6.2: split discovery and selection section for downward and upward (section and section 6.2.2, resp.)

v00 - > v01.txt - Summary Section 6 –Section 6.2: for downward renamed the Associated Area ID sub-TLV as Downstream Associated Area ID (more suitable and prevents confusion w/ Section 6.3 Associated Area ID sub-TLV) –Section 6.3: detail scope of loop prevention –Section 6.3: figures have been revisited to prevent confusion with ABR functionality –New Section 6.4: resiliency –New Section 6.5: adjacency Section 7.2: details on scalability

Extensions - OSPFv2 Extensions Reachability Link Attributes Scoping Hierarchy OSPFv2 Extend top level Node Attribute sub-TLVs to support address IPv4/IPv6 prefixes (two new sub-TLVs) Discriminate between termination and switching capability: additional ISCD sub-TLV TE link advertisements association to their resp. local-remote TE Router_ID relationship(s) –new sub-TLV of top level link TLV (local/remote TE Router_ID) Prefixes part of the reachability advertisements association to their respective local TE Router_ID –new sub-TLV of top level Node attribute TLV (local TE Router_ID) LSA import/export rules/conditions (TE LSA, Type 1) Per area, selection of –upward info dissemination (U bit in TE router cap. TLV) RC with highest router ID (selection) –downward info dissemination (D bit in TE router cap. TLV) RC with highest router ID (selection) + Down Associated Area ID Loop prevention mechanism: Associated Area ID sub-TLV

Open points No further discussion on the list after rev v01.txt posting so … review process Implementation status ?

Next Steps Are we ready for last call ? Review process –Routing protocol WG for protocol review (directorate ?)
