Healthy Homes Network H.H.N. Team B Ryan Johnson Jason Eastburn Michael Nadrowski Sepideh Dehghani Kam Walia Adnan Syed

What is the H.H.N. project? The Healthy Homes Network (HHN), is a non-profit consortium of businesses cooperating to better the health of residents of metro Kansas City. The purpose of this project is to provide an internet-based resource retrieval system for use by HHN. Project Deliverables 1) Provide a usable interface for accessing resources from a database. 2) Develop administration interface for resources. 3) Provide a brief manual for administering resources.

Architecture 3-Tiered Architecture We chose this because our client H.H.N. wanted a easily maintainable web-based database. The main requirement was that the website be simple for users to maneuver through while providing accurate and up-to-date information.

Design Pattern The administrator will need to be able to add, delete, and modify resources.

Website Demonstration User Interface Beta version of what the user will see Administrator Interface Beta version showing how to add a resource to the database

Why did we chose ASP over ASP.NET? 1. The website plan that H.H.N. purchased with Alentus (Website Host) does not support ASP.NET. In order to make ASP.NET work they would have to upgrade to a more expensive plan. 2. None of our group members are familiar with ASP.net. 3. It has to be hosted on a Microsoft web server.

Schedule 9/18 Met with Cindy Singer for the Baseline Requirements. 10/7 We decided on the design of the website, and began website coding. 10/14 Connected the database to the website allowing the administrator to add resource information. 11/4 Have database populated, and have all functions working properly. We are ahead of schedule, anticipating to be completed with our project by early November.

Problems We are not able to modify or delete the information on the website without changing the Access database manually. How are will going to fix this? With some simple functions in the code of the webpage to modify and delete information.

How are we working together? Members meet after each class period to touch base and assign tasks. When there is a need to discuss newly encounter problems we also schedule additional meetings on days that fits everyone’s schedule. Because we all live far apart communicate via and MSN Instant Messenger. Overall I am very satisfied with our communication and consider us to be a productive team.
