Howard E. Gardner The father of MIT Howard Earl Gardner (born July 11, 1943) is an American developmental psychologist and a professor at Harvard University. He introduced his theory of Multiple Intelligences in his book Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences (1983).

As Gardner himself states ‘…all human beings possess not just a single intelligence…’ ‘…we… are better described as having a set of relatively autonomous intelligences.’

How do educators make use of MIT ? Through a) Individualization: teaching and assessment that bring out each child’s capacities

b) Pluralization: one topic taught in multiple ways reaches many students Thorough understanding of a topic means several ways of thinking it, thus, use of multiple intelligences.

Logical/Mathematical chart, mind map, riddle, puzzle, diagram Musical song, poem, role play, film Naturalist diorama, field study, collection of fossils, insects etc, photo essay Spatial/Visual cartoon, chart, maze, mobile, pictures, collage
